Exercise 5: Speak to Yourself Like Someone Worth Listening To

Updated: Jun 13

Here we are reframing Affirmations as Instructions to the subconscious for Healing and Self-Worth

Why this matters:

Your mind is always listening—and it believes what you repeatedly tell it.

When your inner dialogue supports your healing, your nervous system begins to feel safer.

Your subconscious gently follows your lead. And over time, the voice inside you becomes one of your greatest allies.

This exercise is about shifting your inner conversation from fear and self-doubt to self-trust and compassionate support. These aren’t just affirmations, they’re healing instructions to your subconscious.

Let’s begin.

Part One: Speak to Your Healing Like You Believe in It

Take a moment to reflect on how you talk about your healing journey, especially when no one else is listening.

Do you speak about yourself like someone who is becoming more whole? More worthy? More in touch with her own light?

Now gently complete these sentences, no pressure to make them perfect. Just speak from the heart.

  • I am healing from…

  • And I’m learning to…

  • What I’m discovering about myself is…

  • I trust that my healing is…

Let yourself feel into the truth of your words. If it feels awkward or uncomfortable, that’s okay.

You’re practicing a new way of being with yourself.

Part Two: Give Your Subconscious Loving Instructions

Affirmations aren’t just nice words. They’re signals to your subconscious, helping it rewire old beliefs and build new emotional pathways.

Say these instructions out loud (or in your mind) with gentle conviction:

  • I am learning to feel safe in my own body.

  • I am allowed to take up space.

  • I am learning to love who I already am.

  • I am worthy of peace, healing, and joy.

  • I trust the process, even when I don’t understand it.

  • I speak to myself like someone who matters.

Write down the ones that resonate most or create your own.

The key is how you say them: slowly, with kindness, and as if you believe they’re already true (even just a little).

Part Three: Stretch into the Version of You Who Already Believes

You don’t need to heal all at once. You don’t need to be confident every day.

But you can stretch—just a little—into the version of you who already knows she is worthy.

Gently ask yourself:

  • What’s one small action I can take today that honors my healing?

  • How would I speak to myself if I trusted that I’m on the right path?

  • What does the “worthy” version of me know that I sometimes forget?

Your growth is not measured by perfection.

It’s measured by how often you return to yourself with love.

Closing Reflection

The more you speak to yourself like someone worth listening to… the more your mind and body will begin to believe it.

And that belief becomes the foundation for everything else.

Because you are worthy.

Right now. As you are.
