EFT and Essential Oils for Sleep

Tapping on specific points on the body can help release emotional tension and promote relaxation.

By applying or using essential oils prior to EFT Tapping, the limbic system in the brain is activated (where emotions are stored) and the emotional/energetic release from EFT is enhanced.

Begin by diffusing or applying your favorite relaxing oils (there are some suggestions below 👇)

Take a few deep breaths to center yourself and bring awareness to your body and mind. Using 3 finger tips, begin by gently tapping the Side of Hand (SH) point. State the following phases out loud as you tap:

”Even though I don’t believe anything will help me get to sleep, I love and accept myself anyway."

“Even though my mind is racing and I’m worried I will never fall asleep, I love and accept myself and my feelings."

“Even though I am tired and I want to sleep, my mind is still busy. I acknowledge and accept how I feel and I love myself anyway."

“Even though I’m feeling frustrated and angry because I can’t sleep, I am open to accepting myself anyway, right here, right now.”

Take a deep, relaxed inhale and exhale. Using 2 fingertips, Tap each point 7 times, or as long as it takes to say the following reminder phrases…

EFT Tapping Points

Eyebrow: "I can’t get to sleep”

Side of Eye: “My brain is too busy”

Under Eye: “I’m feeling too anxious!”

Under Nose: "I'm worried I won’t get enough sleep”

Chin: “I can’t relax”

Collarbone: "I can’t get to sleep”

Under Arm: "I just can’t relax”

Top of Head: "It’s time to get some sleep now”

EB: "I am safe right now”

SE: "Maybe I can let this go”

UE: "So I choose to release my day"

UN: "It feels so cozy here in the blankets”

CH: "Maybe I can let myself rest”

CB: "I give myself permission to relax”

UA: "It’s ok to release my stress and tension”

TH: "It’s safe to let myself sleep”

EB: "I can allow myself to sleep deeply”

SE: "I thank my mind and my body”

UE: “I can let go of all these busy thoughts”

UN: "Letting it all go now”

CH: “Allowing myself to feel safe and relaxed now”

CB: "I choose to feel relaxed and comfortable in my body now”

UA: "I am ready to sleep”

TH: "I deeply and completely love and accept myself”

Take a deep breath. And notice how you're feeling. Keep tapping until you feel calm and ready to sleep. You can repeat the same phrases, or substitute your own.

Relaxing essential oils:

Lavender (try rubbing a drop between your hands and hold them up to your nose)

Ylang Ylang



Cedarwood (try a drop on each big toe)

To maximize the effectiveness of EFT for better sleep, it’s beneficial to combine it with other sleep hygiene practices. These practices include establishing a consistent sleep schedule, creating a soothing bedtime routine, optimizing your sleep environment, and avoiding stimulating activities or substances close to bedtime.

By integrating EFT with these practices, you can enhance the overall quality of your sleep.
